About Amanda Stella Powers

Amanda Stella Powers is a Philadelphia-based artist with a BFA from Arcadia University. She spends her time making art and gardening to a variety of music including her favorite classical composers, Haydn, Satie, and Saint-Saëns. Supporting the Liberal Arts at MCCC, PA by day, she challenges herself to make art at night and on weekends. She is now illustrating (Not) a John Hughes Film with Tom Powers and producing posters for MCCC. Her illustrations have appeared in Back Issue magazine—Issues #98 and #106, The Unofficial 1974 U.N.I.T Fannual (“Just Another Day in the Life of Corporal Bell” and “A Grand Day Out”), The Unofficial Doctor Who Annual 1988 (“Pease Pottage Hot, Pease Pottage Cold”), Awakening Comics (“Sparky: Cosmic Delinquent,” “Sparky’s Endless Rut,” “Tails of Sparky”), Kaleidotrope, and as a book cover (The Third Floor Movie Mystery).

 

In 2025, she will be published in Megaton Man: Multimensions (Cosmic Lion Productions) with Donald Simpson. With Supertopia!—her first full-length, 200-page graphic novel—she strongly expounds her beliefs in equity, diversity, and LGBTQ+ initiatives.

 

Amanda Stella loves anything art, music, and comic books. She spends her time making art and gardening to a variety of music including her favorite classical composers, Haydn, Satie, and Saint-Saëns while surrounded by an eclectic growing collection of plants.

Working as a full-time for a Libera Arts Division at a Community College by day, she challenges herself to make art at night and weekends.
